Once in a while a manufacture comes up with a new way to solve an old problem. Yamaha has done this with their Monster Swab for saxophones. Though you still have to thread a pull tape down the instrument the cleaning head is improved. There is a cotton envelope filled with lightweight springy material which keeps the an even pressure on to the sides of the saxophone as it passes through. Having no solid parts in the cleaner there is very little risk of it damaging the instrument or getting stuck. ( no promises on this though )
