Alexander Superial Classique Designed with an even thicker profile than the double cut. The "Classique" provides a darker classical sound due to the greater amount of wood in the tip and heart regions.

AW Reeds. A new reed made by a company that have designed and engineered a new generation of computer controlled reed making machinery. The beautiful made reeds are French File cut from French cane.

Bari Plastic is the best known name in plastic reeds. It is a completely synthetic reed (clear plastic) designed to duplicate the performance of cane with unbeatable longevity. The sound is bright and punchy, favored by many jazz players.
Also available, the Bari Star Reed made from Avilar, a revolutionary material which is shaped using cane machinery. A clean pure sound with a very positive attack is its hallmark.

Daniel’s is an exciting new range of reeds manufactured by the Italian firm Lucien. The reeds are finely finished in a design similar to traditional cut Vandoren reeds. Cane from the famous Var district of France is used exclusively to produce a clear, consistent and vibrant tone with good immediate playability. Each box of 10 reeds contains 5 reusable 2-reed reed guards so that each reed is held safely.

Kevlar fibers suspended in a resin formulation with a Faber and cell structure patterned after natural cane make Fibracell reeds a welcome new addition to the market. Modeled on an American reed profile and an unfiled cut, they are designed to last up to 4 times longer than natural cane. Fibracell reeds, with their quick response and brilliant overtones produce a vibrant resonant sound.

Glotin GIII. Glotin have been manufacturing some of th finest French reed products for decades. Very well known worldwide, for both double reed cane and single reed products are worthy of much greater recognition. The GIII is made from Glotin's thickest diameter, highest density cane. Glotin Gaia 50. Derived from the Giaia and with many of the same features, the Gaia 50 is thinner cut for a noticeably easier response and freer tonal quality. The Hahn reed from Germany is a new synthetic reed engineered to mimic the very structure of cane. Although it doesn’t look like cane, it does feel and vibrate like it. The Hahn reed offers a long lasting performance, remarkable sound quality and immediate response - great when doubling! Even if it is not your first choice of reed it should certainly be your spare.

The Mitchell Lurie Premium reeds share the same overall design as the Mitchell Lurie Standard range but use a superior premium grade of cane which is carefully selected for thickness and finely sanded to a smooth finish on the vamp. The Reeds Australia Vintage XL range is a new creation by Reeds Australia designed to meet professional requirements for firm, resilient cane with long-lasting qualities. The blank used is much thicker and the cane denser than that used in the regular Vintage range and even more wood is left in the heart region.

The Reeds Australia Studio Plus range is available for the beginner to intermediate player. It offers the same Australian-grown cane as the Vintage range but is supplied with a thinner blank and a lighter, more free-blowing cut. Its sound is slightly brighter than other Reeds Australia products and very vibrant.

Introduced in Autumn 2006 the special
Rico Reserve Clarinet reed is exceeding expectations in both sound and consistency. Made on French made machinery and using only the lowest internode sections of the finest hand chosen cane, this is a reed worth trying.

Rico Royal reeds use a higher grade of cane than standard Rico. The cane is cut to leave more wood in the heart region and offers slightly more resistance for the developing player. A file cut is used to finish the vamp, helping to create a brilliant, flexible reed.

Rico Plasticover reeds start as cane cut with the profile of Rico Royal but are finished with a plastic coating, thus sealing the fibers of the vamp, sides and heel. The coating stabilises the cane, reducing moisture absorption and increasing its longevity and reliability in heavy duty playing conditions. A special tonal edge to the sound is created by the coating which adds brilliance to the sound.

Rico Jazz Select Rico’s top quality cane is used in this latest reed design. Introduced in 1997 after years of testing by some of the world’s most respected jazz players, the Rico Jazz Select reed has a strong spine and responsive tip to provide the power and feel demanded by contemporary musicians. A filed design provides an exceptionally even quality and vibrancy throughout the range. Available as filed or unfiled.

Rico Grand Concert Select,

Using cane hand-selected for its density from Rico’s finest cane fields, Select reeds have been created after worldwide consultations with leading clarinet professionals. Unique cutting and grading technology aims to ensure the highest degree of consistency. Grand Concert Select reeds are designed with a file cut and have more ‘wood’ in the body of the reed for a more centered sound and response. Thick Blank reeds are approximately 0.5mm thicker in the blank with proportionately more wood used throughout the reed for a darker, warmer quality.

Sinus - Model F (French Cut)
Handmade in Germany by Rudolph Pflaumer, these reeds are sought after by top professionals for their quality response and dark tonal colour. Made from the finest quality French cane they are individually hand-finished and selected for strength. The dimensions of the blank are slightly thicker and shorter than many other professional reeds and a file cut at the shoulders is used.

‘The most widely played reed in the professional world!’ Harvested from the finest French cane, the Vandoren Traditional reed is considered the standard against which all others are judged. A very thin tip with a strong central heart and a file cut are standard on all Traditional reeds. These features combine to provide a brilliant response and flexibility.

The Vandoren V12 reed, available only for Bb clarinet, was introduced to meet the demands of many professionals for a different type of response from their reeds. The V12 is cut upon a thicker reed blank at both heel and tip, and has a longer vibrating surface than the traditional cut. A bigger, darker and warmer sound may be found in the V12, contrasted with the brilliance and responsive attack of the Traditional cut.

The Vandoren 56 rue Lepic reed, available only for Bb clarinet, is a premium cut clarinet reed introduced in 2004. Designed to be made from thicker cane than both the traditional and V12, the "56" has a rich, centered and extremely pure sound while providing stability in all registers. Its quick response ensures precision in the most difficult passages without sacrificing
the extraordinary round and warm sound

The Vandoren Java range was introduced in 1983 to fulfill the requirements of Jazz and light music performers. The Java saxophone reed is designed for flexibility and increased vibration, incorporating a thicker tip and a central heart region more flexible than that used in the Traditional cut.

Introduced in 1993 at the request of American Jazz artists, the Vandoren V16 is a vibrant reed with more ‘snap’, or crispness, designed for a contemporary sound. It has been described by many musicians as ‘a Java reed with even more wood’. The V16 is thicker at the butt end and offers a different vibrating balance within the reed. It also has a more rounded shape at the tip than many other makes. Unfiled cut.

The Vandoren ZZ range was introduced in 2003 for the Jazz saxophonist. The ZZ reed features an American style cut with a flexible and punchy sound. It produces an even response in all registers like the V16 reed but with an easier 'blowing feel'. Developed after extensive consultation with leading saxophonists worldwide. Now you have even more choice from Vandoren. Unfiled cut.

Manufactured for the Austrian market to fit narrow facing, narrow tip opening, long mouthpieces, the Vandoren German Cut White Master uses a shorter blank length and narrower width than standard file cut reeds. It is supplied with an unfiled shoulder design to help produce a darker sound. Suitable for German and Austrian mouthpieces only.

Vandoren German Cut Black Master reeds are wider than the White Master and a file cut is used. Although intended for the German market, Black Master reeds can be used with success on standard French or American style mouthpieces.

This new premium professional reed is a quality, finely finished reed, using European cane stocks grown in the Andes mountains of South America. Zonda quality control and consistency are of a very high standard with sub-strength grading available Zonda reeds have an attractive response and depth of sound with long-lasting service.
